SEDIMENTS REMEDIATION ACTION TEAM
CONFERENCE CALL

On February 7, 2002, the following members of the Remediation Technologies Development Forum's (RTDF's) Sediments Remediation Action Team met in a conference call:

Nancy Grosso, DuPont Corporate Remediation (Action Team Co-chair)
Dennis Timberlake, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
John Davis, The Dow Chemical Company
Kelly Madalinski, EPA
Ralph Stahl, DuPont Corporate Remediation

Christine Hartnett of Eastern Research Group, Inc., (ERG) was also present.

THE MARCH 2002 SEDIMENTS REMEDIATION ACTION TEAM MEETING

The Sediments Remediation Action Team plans to meet in Baltimore, Maryland, in March 2002. Invitations and a draft agenda were recently distributed. Kelly Madalinski said that this conference call was being held to discuss the agenda. Call participants offered the following recommendations on the subject:

• Add information about the two Anacostia River presentations. Nancy Grosso said that a general overview on the Anacostia River will be offered on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 13, 2002, but that a more in-depth working meeting will be held in Annapolis, Maryland, on March 14, 2002. John Davis agreed to write text that describes what will be covered during the two different Anacostia River sessions; he will send the text to Madalinski.



• Add a short paragraph that describes the purpose of the Rapid Assessment Workshop. Ralph Stahl agreed to write text and send it to Madalinski before the end of the week.



• Add speakers and rearrange the order and timing of presentations. Call participants provided new information about speakers and presentation titles. They also agreed to change the order and timing of some presentations in an effort to balance the meeting agenda. They noted that the agenda still has some flexibility; there is still room to add more speakers. (Stahl is still trying to line up a few more presentations.)



• Revise and redistribute the agenda. Madalinski agreed to revise the agenda by early next week so that an updated version can be distributed to all invitees.

Call participants also agreed that it is important to start thinking about the date, location, and theme of the next RTDF Sediments Remediation Action Team meeting. (October 2002 was identified as the ideal target.) They will look at their calenders and let each other know when they are not available to meet. They will also share ideas about location and themes via e-mail.
