Math models for sediments have been developed in groups that build sequentially upon one another (outputs from the more basic model groups provide the inputs to the next group)
- Hydraulic models form the main foundation in describing the
flows and associated stresses
- Sediment transport models
- Models for physical and chemical transport and
transformation of contaminants
