PHYTOREMEDIATION ACTION TEAM
CHLORINATED SOLVENTS SUBGROUP CONFERENCE CALL

On Wednesday, July 31, 2002, the following members of the Remediation Technologies Development Forum's Chlorinated Solvents Subgroup met in a conference call:

Bob Tossell, CH2M Hill, Inc.
Harry Compton, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
Jim Jordahl, CH2M Hill, Inc.
Xiujin Qiu, The Dow Chemical Company

Also participating in the call was Michelle Arbogast from Eastern Research Group, Inc. (ERG).

ACTION ITEMS

The Subgroup has been working on a protocol that describes how to assess phytoremediation at chlorinated solvent sites. The protocol's progress was discussed during the call and the following action items were identified:

• Harry Compton will send Bob Tossell text that Joel Burken prepared for the protocol's "Air Quality Monitoring" and "Regulatory" sections.



• Before the end of August, Xiujin Qiu will send Tossell a paragraph about future applications of fate and transport models.



• Tossell will revise the protocol and distribute it to Subgroup members in early September.



• Subgroup members will review the protocol before the next conference call.



• ERG will set up the next conference call for September 25, 2002, between 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
