SUMMARY OF THE REMEDIATION TECHNOLOGIES DEVELOPMENT FORUM
NAPL CLEANUP ALLIANCE
CONFERENCE CALL

April 25, 2001
11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

INTRODUCTION

On April 25, 2001, the following members of the Remediation Technologies Development Forum’s (RTDF’s) Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (NAPL) Alliance met in a conference call:

Randy Breeden, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 8 (Alliance co-chair)
Mark Lyverse, Chevron Research and Technology Company (Alliance co-chair)
Kathy Yager, EPA Technology Innovation Office (TIO)

Also present were Christine Hartnett and Laurie Stamatatos of Eastern Research Group, Inc. (ERG).

JUNE 2001 MEETING

Randy Breeden opened the call by noting that the NAPL Cleanup Alliance plans to meet on June 26 and 27, 2001. The meeting will be held at BP Amoco’s facilities in Naperville, Illinois. Invitations will be distributed soon, along with information on meeting registration, hotel reservations, and transportation logistics.

The meeting will extend over a day and a half. Call participants identified the following as potential agenda items:

Breeden agreed to draft an agenda for the meeting and to distribute it to call participants for comment.

UPDATE ON THE TECHNICAL INFORMATION WORKGROUP

Yager said that TIO plans to hire a contractor to support the Technical Information workgroup. She agreed to set up a conference call for the workgroup before the June 2001 Alliance meeting. That way, the workgroup can start drafting “marching orders” for the contractor.

SUMMARIZING THE ALLIANCE’S ACTIVITIES

Yager said that Environmental Management Support, Inc., prepares summaries of the Alliance’s activities. These should be distributed, she said, to people who have expressed interest in the Alliance. Minutes of Alliance conference calls and meetings are also recorded. These are posted on the RTDF Web site. Minutes recorded for the workgroup conference calls, Breeden said, should be posted on the password-protected portion of the RTDF Web site, along with any comments that Alliance members have for the workgroups.
