Bill Berti, DuPont Central Research and Development (Action Team Co-Chair)
James Ryan, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) (Action Team Co-Chair)

THE ACTION TEAM’S SYMPOSIUM
Bill Berti and Jim Ryan opened the call by noting that members of the IINERT Action Team plan to hold a symposium on October 24, 2001, in Charlotte, North Carolina, as part of the 2001 annual meeting of the American Society of Agronomy (ASA), Crop Science Society of America (CSSA), and Soil Science Society of America (SSSA). Berti and Ryan asked call members to do the following before the symposium:
- Submit 1-page biographical sketches to Berti by October 1, 2001. Berti said that he plans to introduce each of the symposium’s speakers. To do so, he must obtain information from each speaker that provides a snapshot of their experience and explains why they are involved with IINERT technologies.
- Submit draft presentations to Berti or Ryan by October 1. Berti and Ryan said that they will deliver the symposium’s introduction and conclusion. In order to prepare these sections, they must receive drafts of each symposium speaker’s presentation by October 1 so that they know what information will be covered during the symposium.
- Submit final presentations to Berti by October 23, 2001. Berti said that all of the symposium’s presentations will be presented in PowerPoint. Speakers must give him final copies of their presentations by October 23 so that the presentations can be loaded onto one computer before the symposium starts. (Presentations should be submitted via e-mail, or provided on a CD or disk.)
- Register for the ASA-CSSA-SSSA meeting. Berti noted that discounted registration fees will be offered to all those who register before September 7, 2001. Registration can be performed on line by visiting http://www.asa.cssa.sssa.org/olr99.
