ACTION TEAM CO-CHAIRS CONFERENCE CALL

Walt Kovalick (EPA/TIO) reviewed the agenda for the conference call- the primary topics of discussion are the draft RTDF Update, date for the next annual RTDF meeting, and issues concerning the review process for RTDF publications.
Discussion of Annual RTDF Meeting
Annette Gatchett (EPA/NRMRL) asked the co-chairs if the format used for the last RTDF meeting was preferred- the first day was dedicated to Action Team meetings and the second day to the RTDF meeting. She indicated that during the second day, Action Teams typically provide an update of activities during the plenary session, followed by a number of presentations on relevant topics.
Walt Kovalick indicated that he has asked Phil Brodsky (Monsanto), Phil Palmer (DuPont), and Joe Salvo (GE) to identify trade/industrial associations of companies that may be interested in participating in the RTDF. Dale Schultz(DuPont) suggested that the annual RTDF meeting be held after the associations are contacted, so that interested parties could attend. It was agreed to postpone the annual RTDF meeting until Fall 1997, which will enable new participants to be identified and invited to the meeting.
Review Process for RTDF Products
Initially discussed on the February 11, 1997, Action Team co-chair conference call, Walt Kovalick continued the discussion of the review process for RTDF products. Walt reminded participants that it was agreed, during the previous Action Team co-chair conference call, to use EPA's review process, if the co-chairs agree that the process is appropriate. The co-chairs agreed that EPA's review process, specifically table entitled "Summary of ORD Peer Review Procedures for Work Products," provided by Greg Sayles (EPA/NRMRL), will be used as the basis for the review- of RTDF products. Annette Gatchett and Greg Sayles agreed to update and tailor the table for the purposes of the RTDF, and will provide it to Beverly Campbell (SCG) for inclusion in the conference call summary.
Greg Sayles suggested that RTDF materials be provided to the appropriate Action Team co-chair(s), who will be responsible for shepherding the product through the review process. It was agreed that Walt Kovalick and Tim Oppelt (EPA/NRMRL)/Bob Olexsey (EPA/NRMRL) will be sent copies of all RTDF products.
Update on RTDF Question and Answer (Q&A) Factsheet
Walt Kovalick indicated that the RTDF Q&A Factsheet has been printed- he agreed to provide SCG with copies to distribute to the co-chairs.
Update on RTDF Update Factsheet
Walt Kovalick asked participants to provide their comments on the draft RTDF Update as soon as possible. He indicated that the document will be printed at the end of March 1997. Comments have been received from Jim Ryan (EPA/NRMRL) and Mason Hughes (Monsanto).
Next RTDF Action Team Co-Chairs Conference Call
The next RTDF Action Team Co-Chairs conference call will be held from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. (EST) on May 28, 1997.
