NEXT PRB ACTION TEAM MEETING
Call participants talked about the PRB Action Team meeting that is scheduled to take place in Niagara Falls, New York, on October 15-16, 2003. They identified the following action items.
- Identify additional presenters for the poster session. There are currently four presenters signed up to participate in the poster session. Bob Puls said that he knew two other people who might be interested in presenting posters. Chris Hartnett and Steve White agreed to follow up with these leads. Bob Gillham said that he would try to solicit posters from University of Waterloo representatives.
- Complete and distribute a preliminary agenda. Prior to the call, Hartnett sent Steering Committee members the most recent version of the meeting agenda. The call participants reviewed the agenda. Puls advised adding a presentation to the "Long-Term Performance of PRBs" session. John Vidumsky said that he would send Hartnett a list of presentations for the "Hydraulic Impacts on PRB Performance" session. By September 19, 2003, ERG will complete the preliminary agenda and distribute it to the entire PRB Action Team mailing list. At the same time, ERG will make another plea for poster abstracts.
- Gather information about refreshment costs. Gillham and Tom Krug have agreed to identify sponsors to pay for refreshments. ERG will send Gillham and Krug estimates of the refreshment costs.
- Collect abstracts and poster presentations. ERG will prepare a booklet for the meeting; it will contain abstracts and PowerPoint presentations. ERG will contact all of the meeting speakers and poster presenters and ask them to submit materials for the booklet. Gillham agreed to help Hartnett gather abstracts for the talks he has lined up under the "Applications of PRB Technology to Source Zone Management" session.
- Change the time for the Steering Committee meeting. The Steering Committee will meet on October 14, 2003. ERG will let Steering Committee members know that the meeting time has been changed. It will now take place between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
